Coordinator - Organisation Development


Job Description

The Pacific Disability Forum (PDF) is a regional peak body on disability, provides leadership as well as supports national organisations of persons with disabilities (OPDs), donor and development partners as well as civil society and the private sector in the pursuit to ensure that persons with disabilities live in an inclusive, barrier-free and rights-based society in Pacific Island countries and territories.

The Coordinator - Organisational Development will support the implementation of the recommendation of the PDF independent assessment carried out by CBM Australia to strengthen compliance of its member organisations in the Pacific. The role will coordinate the implementation of activities between the Secretariat, consultants and OPDs and will ensure that the activities set out in the implementation plan is carried out effectively, efficiently and reported accordingly. The role reports to the Director Operations.

1. Effective implementation of CBM Australia's independent assessment recommendation
  • Independent assessment report effectively reviewed to gain a comprehensive understanding of the recommendations
  • Collaboration with key stakeholders ensured to develop an action plan for implementing the recommendations
  • Clear timelines and milestones for each recommendation established to track progress.
  • Necessary resources, such as funding or additional personnel identified to support the implementation.
  • Monitoring and evaluation of the implementation process to ensure the recommendations are effectively addressed
2. Efficient coordination and implementation of organisational strengthening activities
  • Regular meetings and communication channels between the Secretariat, consultants, and OPDs facilitated to ensure alignment and collaboration.
    • Clear roles, responsibilities, and workflows for all stakeholders involved in the coordination process ensured
    • Management and planning of activities as per the work plan and budget with implementing partners ensured
  • Monitoring the progress of activities and providing timely updates to all relevant stakeholders and Director Operations
    • Timelines are effectively communicated to partners and OPDs
  • A centralised repository for documents, resources, and information related to the implementation activities created and maintained
  • Activity risk is identified and managed accordingly with proper documentation and reports
  • OPDs/members supported in the activities carried out with them
  • Activity timeline developed to be shared with project partners
  • Proactively identifying and resolving any conflicts, bottlenecks, or challenges that may arise during the coordination process
3. Enhanced compliance of member organisations ensured
  • Comprehensive compliance assessments of member organisations conducted to identify gaps and areas for improvement.
  • Developing and delivering training programs or workshops ensured to educate member organisations on compliance requirements and best practices.
  • Guidance and support provided to member organisations in developing and implementing compliance policies and procedures.
  • Regular monitoring system established to assess compliance levels and provide feedback to member organisations.
  • Collaborating with regulatory bodies or relevant authorities to stay updated on compliance regulations and standards.
4. Timely and accurate reporting for all activities ensured
  • All activities carried out by partners and OPDs reported accordingly to PDF
    • Reporting templates or frameworks developed to capture relevant information, progress, and outcomess
  • Collecting and analysing data to generate comprehensive and accurate reports on compliance improvements and organizational development activities ensured
  • Reports are concise, clear, and easily understandable by various stakeholders
  • Reports presented to the Director Operations and other relevant individuals or committees as required.
  • Reports inform decision-making processes and areas for further improvement or intervention identified
5. PDF's image and value standards demonstrated and promoted
  • Collaborate with other teams in the organisation for the benefit of the organisation
  • Monitor and encourage team members to uphold image and value standards

Work Knowledge and Experience

  1. At least 7 years of relevant experience in disability inclusion, human rights, etc.
  2. Extensive experience in design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of rights based, disability inclusive development programs and policies
  3. Sound understanding of the regional architecture
  4. Experience designing and implementing training and capacity building programmes
  5. Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex information into simple reporting structures
  6. Good communication skills with the ability to liaise with high profile delegates as well as to provide support and advice to OPDs, NGOs
  7. Proficiency in the use of computers, software applications - MS Office suite, Google suite, project management software, financial packages, database packages.
  8. Ability to work flexibly and independently within a small team
  9. Professional experience in the disability sector will be an added advantage
  10. Possess sound knowledge and understanding of financial procedures
