Job Description

The Risk and Compliance Officer is responsible for the day to day insurance, risk and compliance matters at CJ Patel Group. This position reports to the Manager Corporate, Finance and Risk at CJ Patel Pte Limited.

1. Company Insurance and Risk managed
  • Insurance cover implemented on a timely basis  
    • All insurance claims managed
    • Insurance policies amendments/reviews updated
      • Insurance policies reviewed to ensure meets business needs
    • Insurance tender process managed on a timely basis
      • Market research completed on an accurate and timely basis comparing insurance providers
2. Regulatory and operationally compliant organisation
  • Corporate governance, corporate business practices and ethics developed and implemented on a timely basis
  • Business processes and internal controls reviewed and developed on an on-going basis
  • Policies, procedures and standard operating procedures (SOP) developed and implemented for the group 
  • Compliance register managed
  • CJ Patel trademarks and names registered on an accurate and timely basis
  • Building and property related compliance & risk managed on an on-going basis 
  • Board audit risk committee meetings organised and managed on a timely basis
  • Risk and compliance related training and development activities for the group organised on a timely basis
3. Well Informed Management
  • Timeliness, quality and accuracy of daily, weekly and monthly reports to management ensured
  • Monthly report presentation is accurate and supports decision making
  • Ad-hoc information requests by management and shareholders for decision-making purposes addressed in a timely manner
4. Effective Human Capital Management ensures a productive, stable and increasingly capable workforce
  • Supervision of and professional guidance to all staff ensured
  • Training needs and competency gaps of staff assessed and managed in partnership with management and HR Department
  • Succession planning ensured

Qualifications

Work Knowledge and Experience

  1. Minimum of three years's experience in Insurance
  2. Computer literate and good documentation skills
  3. Analytical thinking ability and good communication skills
