Job Description

Fiji Sun is a daily newspaper published in Fiji since September 1999 and owned by Sun News (Fiji) Pte Limited. Fiji Sun offers a large and desirable audience across all platforms of print, digital, mobile, tablet and responsive site and one of the largest news brand in the South Pacific bringing the best and latest in Fiji's current affairs, sports, events, analysis and business news.

The Graduate Business Analyst will statistically analyze large data sets for easier interpretation and decision making and supporting identification of effective ways of boosting organizational efficiency and driving business synergies to achieve overall vision and strategic business objectives. The Position reporting to the Finance Manager, Sun (Fiji) News Pte Limited.

Data Analysis conducted to explore how the organization is currently operating research, process mapping, data mining and collecting and analyzing quantitative data Costs and Wastage Production vs Circulation Sales Revenue analysis Internal company data evaluated to identify inefficiencies in the business models Using statistical tools to compile the information for easy interpretation and decision making Using data modelling techniques to identify ways in which an organization can operate more effectively. Working with colleagues and stakeholders to gain an in-depth understanding of critical business requirements understand the company's production process and all aspects Data models analyzed to deliver logical conclusions and innovative solutions for operational and strategic change within the business for increased profitability and efficiency Demand planning supported Providing analytics with respect to inventory on hand, benchmarking, forecasting and forecasting accuracy Inventory planning supported Evaluating business performances and communicate findings and translating data into future forecast expectations inventory reporting across key areas Market trend and competitor analysis   creating statistical forecasts and identifying trends within the market

Work Knowledge and Experience

1. Intermediate to Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (Vlookup and Pivot Tables etc) and powerpoint
2. Excellent organization skills , paying attention to detail and ability to prioritize and work to deadlines.
3. A passion to learn and keen interest in data analytics - enjoy working with numbers, think outside the box and take every opportunity to learn
4. A strong focus on quality and accuracy when working with data
5. A hands-on attitude towards validating and transforming data and pursuing data quality improvement opportunities
