Job Description

The Yaqara Pastoral Company (PTE) Limited (YPCL) is a 100% Government owned commercial company. YPCL is the major producer and supplier of quality beef and produces quality breeding bulls to be distributed to small holder beef farmers around Fiji.

The CEO is responsible for coordinating the formulation and implementation of YPCL's strategic and corporate plans to ensure greater efficiency, productivity, and profitability. S/he will also work with the Board to ensure sustainability and commercial viability of the business, and ensure full compliance of all laws and regulations governing YPCL.

Qualifications

Work Knowledge and Experience

  1. Proven experience as a CEO or Senior Executive in agriculture or related industries
  2. At least 10 years experience in livestock production, preferably in the ruminant livestock commodity.
  3. In-depth knowledge of commercial beef farming practices, animal husbandry, and industry regulations.
  4. Stong business acumen with the ability to manage budgets, financial performance, and sales strategies.
  5. Proven leadership, and experience managing medium to large teams.
  6. Good knowledge of different cultures in Fiji would be an advantage.
  7. Excellent interpersonl, communication, and people skills
