Broadcast Technician


Job Description

The Fijian Broadcasting Corporation is Fiji's largest media company providing radio and television services in the country. The FBC today operates a network of six radio stations; two in each of the three major languages (i-Taukei, Hindustani and English). FBC also has three television channels (FBCTV, FBC2 and FBC Sports HD).

The Broadcast Technician ensures proper first hand maintenance of all broadcasting equipment.

1. Technical Assignments
  • Oversee the technical logistics, rigging/de-rigging of an outside broadcast by ensuring those that are assigned are carrying out the task to the required standard and in compliance with OHS.
  • Enhance broadcast quality by providing technical solutions that are required by the producers and directors in meeting with the objectives of the production
  • Maintain operability of the OB equipment by periodically carrying out tests, maintenance and repair of all equipment and the OB vehicle
  • Maintain cleanliness of work environment, production equipment and all its associated equipment.
  • Maintain stock inventory of all broadcast related equipment.
  • Provide timely broadcast equipment reports to the Head of Technical Operations.

Qualifications

Certificate Trade Certificate in Electronic/ Electrical discipline with 3 years in the field of Telecommunications or Broadcasting
Desirable
Diploma A Diploma in Electronics/Electrical/Telecommunications discipline or equivalent with 2 years experience in the Telecommunications or Broadcast Industry.
