Engineering Manager Logistics Projects

The Engineering Manager Logistics Projects is responsible for overseeing and driving the successful execution of Technical and Engineering projects at TotalEnergies across project sites in Fiji and Tonga. This entails ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality end-to-end project management and delivery, with a focus on upholding HSE standards. In addition to project oversight, the manager is tasked with driving continuous improvement in project management processes, fostering a culture of innovation, and upholding adherence to company policies and statutory regulations. This role reports to the VP Technical and Engineering.

1. Cost Estimation and Budget Management
  • Achieve accurate company cost estimates for allocated capex projects through comprehensive budget quotes and market surveys, ensuring adherence to purchasing principles.
  • Optimize project budgets by implementing cost-effective solutions, contributing to overall project financial efficiency.
  • Ensure accurate verification of purchased materials and timely payment releases to consultants and contractors, adhering to agreed terms and conditions.
  • Efficiently manage resources by seeking external support when necessary, ensuring validation and approval from the VP Technical and Engineering.
2. Project Lifescycle Management
  • Successfully guide and execute capex and opex projects through well-defined project steps, ensuring seamless progression from scope definition to project closure.
  • Deliver essential project documentation, including SOR, PEP, and PQP, ensuring comprehensive and quality project planning from inception to completion.
  • Attain project milestones by successfully implementing project gates and facilitating peer reviews, ensuring the smooth progress of allocated projects.
  • Secure timely approvals from statutory agencies, streamlining the compliance process and avoiding delays in project execution.
  • Ensure efficient handling of non-compliance issues by preparing derogation request forms and obtaining management approval, maintaining project integrity.
  • Ensure a smooth MOC (Management of Change) process for capex and opex projects, facilitating timely reviews, documentation, and record-keeping, minimizing disruptions.
  • Drive efficient meeting processes, leading to well-documented and actionable meeting minutes for both project-specific and departmental meetings.
  • Ensure project success by conducting regular site visits during initial field surveys, construction, and commissioning phases, emphasizing quality and safety standards.
3. Effective Documentation and Reporting
  • Establish a comprehensive and well-organized record-keeping system for all project documentation, promoting accessibility and transparency.
  • Provide timely and insightful project status reports to the Department Head, Management, and APMO stakeholders, enabling informed decision-making.
  • Facilitate open communication with the Department Head, ensuring proactive updates on project status, addressing concerns, and aligning with project deliverables.
  • Generate high-quality AutoCAD drawings and Gantt charts as needed, supporting effective project visualization and planning.
4. Teamwork and effective stakeholder engagement
  • Contribute effectively to various technical and engineering department tasks as directed by the VP Technical & Engineering.
  • Foster effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, resulting in the timely and successful delivery of projects within agreed timelines.

Work Knowledge and Experience

  1. At least 5 years professional experience as an engineer or project manager, preferably in the petroleum industry.
  2. Results-focused, delivers quality work with a high degree of accuracy and within deadlines.

  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (including Visio and Project)and AutoCAD.
