Job Description

The Fijian Broadcasting Corporation is Fiji's largest media company providing radio and television services in the country. The FBC today operates a network of six radio stations; two in each of the three major languages (i-Taukei, Hindi and English). FBC also has three television channels (FBCTV, FBC2 and FBC Sports HD).

The Team Leader Radio provides immediate supervision to Producers/Presenters and ensures their team achieves the highest standards of content production through creative leadership for maximization of listenership.

1. Station Duties
  • Works with the Manager Radio to plan, implement and evaluate program services; review audience research; ensure program services are consistent with the mission, goals and editorial policies of the station
  • Ensuring currency and suitability of promos and commercials that such are not out-dated and are of suitable quality for broadcast on the station.
  • Confers with the Manager Radio on music policy, rotation and content, announcer shifting assignments and rosters, announcer duties off-air, announcer rostering and attendance at Outside Broadcasts, public functions and events, announcer behaviour and conduct within the station - and in public when involved with station business.
2. General Administration
  • Coordinate customer prizes
  • Handle customer complaints and provide timely feedback to customers
  • Coordinate guest logistics for on-air talk back shows
  • Liaise with the relevant stakeholders concerning station matters
  • Assist with group / visitor station tours
  • Assist in reviewing and updating the policies
  • Coordinate training initiatives with the HR department
  • Coordinate announcer logistics with regards to transport, meals, contracts etc.
  • Any other general administrative duties that concern the station

4. Team Management
  • Prepare work plans (annual, monthly and weekly basis)

Work Knowledge and Experience
