Job Description

The Database Engineer will be responsible for working with functional leads and business users to gather requirements, design, analyze, troubleshoot, debugging software programs, process definition, testing, training, and delivering an integrated solution. The role reports to the Software Delivery Manager, CJ Patel & Company Pte Limited.

1. Software Development and Database Design
Design, configuration, testing, documenting, and deployment of application modifications according to user and business specifications ensured Requirement gathering, gap analysis Product/module implementation & customization phases Systems and applications managed, maintained and tailored to the needs of the organization Performance of existing database programs maintained and enhanced Monitoring databases and related systems to ensure optimized performance. A wide variety of enterprise-level software development activities performed Lead contractors in building and delivering the overall solution appropriate documentation of system changes ensured Service requests (SRs) as related to all Oracle modules and interfaces created, managed and resolved and follow up ensured  Oracle Web Conference (OWC) with Oracle support for speedy resolution for all high prioritized issues conducted System test plans developed and executed. effectiveness of changes to IT and software assessed database errors identified and rectified in a timely manner. Rigorous quality assurance testing processes for all production deliverables conducted and documented. Patches/upgrades/new processes tested and validated Test and validate patches/upgrades/new processes Integration data mapping & data loader activities. Help desk and troubleshooting services provided when required
2. Database Information Management and Documentation
User manuals developed and training / updates available to staff Database and user reports, as well as system information reviewed Best practices in securely storing, backing up, and archiving data ensured Processes related to database design, configuration, and performance documented Standard policies for database development activities maintained Physical and logical database models as per the business requirements created Performance, capacity and security of database systems managed and monitored Perform data back-up and archival on regular basis. Documentations regarding database design, configuration and change management tasks prepared
3. Well Informed Management.
Timeliness, quality and accuracy of daily, weekly and monthly reports to management ensured. Ad-hoc information requests by management and business entities for decision making purposes addressed in a timely manner. Project updates provided utilizing excellent communication (written and verbal).

Work Knowledge and Experience

1. Strong knowledge and at least six years of experience with design and development of custom solutions on Oracle PL SQL, APEX 18.1 Framework, Alerts, Workflows, ADF and APIs)
2. Expert knowledge of Oracle R12 architecture, configurations and setups is required (e.g. table structures/schemas)
3. Thorough/expert technical knowledge in SQL, PL/SQL, Reports (.rdf/Discoverer), XML/BI Publisher, tuning, query optimization techniques and Web Services architectures
4. Solid understanding of integration processes of third-party systems (design, mapping, and execution)
5. Ability to accomplish assigned projects utilizing excellent communication (written and verbal), project management, time management and collaboration skills
6. Must possess strong analytical skills, troubleshooting, problem resolution, and user support skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications with an emphasis toward highly available and scalable solutions
7. Solid experience in integration data mapping, data loader activities
