Events Coordinator


Job Description

The Fijian Broadcasting Corporation is Fiji's largest media company providing radio and television services in the country. The FBC today operates a network of six radio stations; two in each of the three major languages (i-Taukei, Hindustani and English). FBC also has three television channels (FBCTV, FBC2 and FBC Sports HD).

The Events Coordinator will be responsible for planning, organizing, and executing marketing events that promote FBC's brand, products, and services to its target audience.

1. Event Management
  • Develop and drive marketing event project plans from inception to completion.
  • Liaising with clients to ascertain their precise event requirements
  • Ensure event logistics are in line with event requirements
  • Assist the Events Manager in researching, identifying, inviting and scheduling the speakers or special guests
  • Coordinating staffing event requirements
  • Arranging accommodation for exhibitors and/or delegates
  • Preparing delegate packs and papers in conjunction with your team
  • Organizing the design and production of tickets, posters, catalogues and sales brochures in conjunction with the team
  • Overseeing the dismantling and removal of the event, and clearing the venue efficiently
  • Liaise with TV crew for TV shoots of the various FBC events.
  • Weekly Outside Broadcast (OB) Times Schedules to be done for All 6 Radio Stations
  • Coordinator with All Outside Broadcast (OB) Tech’s with OB Times
  • Provide Outside Broadcast (OB) Times to Info Centre and All 6 Radio Stations
  • Liaise with Radio Traffic Scheduler for clearing Station Logs spot blocks
  • Ensure that the resources and pricing are aligned with vendors
  • Promote marketing events via appropriate social media channels.
  • Track event attendance and generate post-event satisfaction surveys.
  • Serve as the point person onsite for setup, troubleshooting, and breakdown.

Qualifications

Work Knowledge and Experience

  1. At least 3 years of work experience in an Events Management role in the Media and/or Advertising industry.
  2. Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  3. Understanding of negotiating techniques and marketing tactics
  4. Highly organized with outstanding attention to detail.
