Strategic Development Manager


Job Description

The Fijian Broadcasting Corporation is Fiji's largest media company providing radio and television services in the country. The FBC today operates a network of six radio stations; two in each of the three major languages (i-Taukei, Hindustani and English). FBC also has three television channels (FBCTV, FBC2 and FBC Sports HD).

The Strategic Development Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, and monitoring of the FBC's strategic plans resulting in the optimization of operational efficiency whilst generating new revenue streams in addition to sustaining current business.

1. Formulation of Strategic Development Plans
  • Develop and implement efficient and effective business development plans for the organization's growth and sustainability in the short-term and long-term.
    • This includes designing and delivering various projects.
    • Identifying and developing strategies to assist FBC in it's business operations.
  • Developing programmes, partnerships and marketing techniques to increase the organisation’s topline revenue.
    • Develop and review various investment strategy's to significantly increase income across a range of funding streams through Radio, Television and Digital Media.
  • Build effective working relationships within the organisation, all key stakeholders and local and overseas business vendors for effective and efficient business development plans.
  • Conduct detailed financial and technical analysis including modeling to build business plans for major strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with major funders/investors (potential and existing).
  • Conduct regular trends and gap analysis of funding landscapes and keep up to date on opportunities through current and new partners.
  • Conceptualise and develop performance frameworks for business development and resource mobilization including ongoing monitoring of projects.

Qualifications

Work Knowledge and Experience

  1. Demonstrated success in developing and implementing strategic plans
  2. Strong communication, writing and presentation skills.
  3. Experience in the broadcast industry will be an added advantage.
  4. Experience in content strategy, marketing, or product management - preferably in a Broadcast and/or Technology Industry.
