Job Description

The Fiji Ports Corporation PTE Limited (FPCL) is a major player in the maritime transporting industries and the operator of commercial port facilities in Fiji.

The responsibility of this role is to assist the trades personnel of the Maintenance Team in the maintenance of all commercial port structures, buildings and related areas. This role reports to the Team Leader Maintenance.

1. Routine maintenance tasks performed as required in a timely and efficient manner:
  • Effective assistance provided with the ongoing preventative maintenance programs
  • Work order priorities ensured on a daily basis
    • timely and efficient service provided
  • Cleanliness of the work area space ensured at all times
    • housekeeping ensured
  • Compliance with health and safety ensured at all times
    • storage and handling of dangerous goods/chemicals
  • The Maintenance Team efficiently and effectively assisted as and when required by the Team Leader

  • Defects reported and complaints on company assets/buildings attended to efficiently
  • Complaints addressed in a timely fashion:
    • Incidents and accidents reported accordingly
    • Records for the issue logged

  • Any other work-related task assigned by the Management that is within the capacity of the position holder is performed; teamwork is demonstrated

Qualifications

Qualification Discipline Notes
Preferred
School Leaving A Form 6 pass.
Desirable
Certificate Certificate in Carpentry / Welding / Electrical or other associate trade. 1.Group 6 Driving License is Desirable.

Work Knowledge and Experience

  1. Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in the technical field (carpentry/masonry/painting/plumbing/welding)
  2. Must be physically fit to conduct operational and technical duties listed above
  3. Must be able to work long hours
  4. Reasonable knowledge of reading the maintenance plans, programs, orders and engineering drawings
  5. Demonstrated experience and knowledge in store-keeping
