Sales Representative


Job Description

CJ Patel (Pacific) Limited is one of Fiji’s largest distributors of locally manufactured and renowned international Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) within Fiji and most of the Pacific. The company has an extensive distribution network with major supermarkets, food service industries and down-the-line (DTL) retailers with its main warehouse in Wailekutu, Lami and supported by branch operations in Lautoka and Labasa and other regional markets such as New Zealand, East Timor, Vanuatu, Kiribati, Tonga, Samoa and Papua New Guinea.

The Sales representative is responsible for strengthening new & existing business relationships with consumers in ensuring sales activities & targets are achieved. This roles reports to senior sales representative, CJ Patel (Pacific) Pte Ltd.

1. Sales Activities and Targets Managed
  • Monthly/quarterly sales target achieved against budget.
    • Selling products to customers, and representing the brand. 
    • giving demos or presentations, and maintaining customer relationships.
    • successfully implementing sales and marketing strategies and tactics
  • Reaching out to potential leads through a variety of channels, such as email, phone, text, and social media.
  • Negotiating with leads and using persuasion techniques to overcome objections and landing deals that are beneficial to the company, while also providing customers with optimal value. 
  • Business relationships with assigned key retailers and other merchants managed effectively.
    • Communicate customer and prospect product main points to appropriate departments
    • Maintain a well-developed pipeline of prospects
    • Develop strong, ongoing relationships with prospects and customers
    • Submitting and processing orders to ensure customers receive the products or services they request on time.
    • track sales activities and update account information as needed
  • Execution and monitoring of route plans for sales ensured on a daily basis in liaison with Sales Manager
  • Prospect and qualify new sales leads
    • Schedule meetings and presentations with prospects
    • Create, plan, and deliver presentations on company products in a timely manner
2. Debtors and Customer Service Management
  • Full collection for assigned portfolio accounts ensured within its trading days and limits
    • Invoices, credit notes delivered to customers on timely basis
  • Assessment on feedback from operations team and customers conducted in a timely manner
    • Implementation of territory action plan using comprehensive data analysis
    • adjust sales techniques according to interactions and results in the field
  • Participating in company meetings with sales managers and other sales reps. 
    • providing a recap of recent results and accomplishments on hitting quotas. 
3. Well Informed Management
  • Comprehensive and detailed reports generated and shared with the  Leadership Team
    • sales leads and opportunities
    • competitor and market trend analysis

  • Ad-hoc information requests by management, for decision-making purposes, provided on accurate and in a timely manner

Work Knowledge and Experience

  1. 2-3 years experience in Sales and Marketing with FMCG
  2. Proven track record of successfully managing customer relationships
  3. Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, and organizational skills
  4. Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales
  5. Strong ability to balance persuasion with professionalism
  6. Prioritizing, time management and organizational skills
