Job Description

The Fiji Ports Corporation PTE Limited (FPCL) is a major player in the maritime transporting industries and the operator of commercial port facilities in Fiji.

The Supervisor (Technical Services) reports to the Assistant Engineer and is responsible to lead a team of trades personnel and their team leader to ensure that maintenance of all commercial port structures and buildings and related areas in Suva

1. Maintenance of Ports Property
  • Manage the maintenance and upkeep of all FPCL properties (Buildings, Wharf Structures, fence, road markings etc)
  • Scope of works and required materials.defined
  • Define and manage work plans for tradespersons.
  • Expenditure associated with maintenance works monitored and controlled
  • Ensure that the Monthly expenditure is within budget.
  • Use of tools & equipment controlled and updated
  • Cost estimates for maintenance works and minor projects provided
  • Ensure that work carried out is properly documented and planned.
  • All materials request verified to ensure there is no wastage.
  • All time-sheets verified
  • Ensure that no employee is overstating their times.


 

2. Technically compliant Port facilities
  • Port Regulations administered
  • facilities inspected regularly and appropriately followed up
  • Ensure compliance to Health and safety.
  • Minimal impact on the environment ensured when work is being carried out
  • Recommend minor site design adjustments.

Qualifications

Qualification Discipline Notes
Preferred
Diploma Carpentry/Plumbing/Welding or other associated engineering trade.
Preferred
Certificate Carpentry/Plumbing/Welding or other associated engineering trade.

Work Knowledge and Experience

  1. At least 4 years work experience at a similar role
  2. have completed appropriate trade certificates relevant to the role
