Solomon Islands Electricity Authority (SIEA) trading as Solomon Power is a state-owned enterprise established under the Electricity Act 1969 and governed by the State-Owned Enterprises Act 2007 and the associated regulations. Solomon Power owns, maintains, and operates the country’s national electricity grid. Solomon Power generates, transmits, distributes and sells electricity in the Solomon Islands.

Reporting to the Spare Parts Engineer, the role of a Tool and Stock Controller is essential for maintaining an efficient and organized inventory levels for all Generation Operations. The role will be responsible for Issuing, receiving, monitoring, tracking inventory and safe keeping of hand tools and power tools and equipment and replenish them us and when required. It also ensure the Issuing, receiving, monitoring, recording and storage of goods are available in the right quantities at the right time and in an acceptable and orderly manner and replenishing of stock to maintain stock levels to meet generations operation demand. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure.

1. All Operations Power tools and hand tools effectively managed
Accurate record keeping inventory of all power and hand tools maintained Ensure hand tools, power tools and equipment issued daily for various task is received with verification and securely stored on a daily basis. Ensures procurement of Tools comply with procurement policy and processes. Ensure hand tools, power tools and equipment are properly checked for fitness for use prior to issuing to operation teams. Received request for tools and equipment replacement and advise Spare Parts Engineer in a Timely Manner. Monitor condition of all tools and equipment and recommend to Spare parts Engineer for replacement. Ensure defective tools and equipment are store away and properly disposed upon verification by Spare Parts Engineer. Liaise with Technical teams through immediate supervisor to ensure tools of high quality is procured and issued for use. Ensure tool storage facility is clean and tidy. Carry out quarterly inspection of tools to ensure compliance to safety regulation.
2. Generations Stores operations effectively managed
Ensure stores requisitions received and verified and stock requests issued on a daily basis Stores processes compliance with all policies and procedures ensured Ensure goods and materials issued in compliance with recognized health and safety regulations Reconciliation of received and issued goods ensured Recorded in the appropriate stock record cards and in the system on a daily basis and submitted to Spare Parts Engineer for checking Stored goods maintained in an orderly manner ensured Stock stored securely and report submitted with any security concerns to the Spare Parts Engineer and Management regularly Assist in establishing and maintaining stock levels to minimize stock outs ensured. Assist in preparing orders to replenish stock and maintain stock levels on a monthly basis ensured. Assist in carrying out and reconciling physical stock with stores stock records and report any discrepancies to the PM and FM ensured. Ensure Stock returns recorded and accounted for. Clean, tidy and organize stores maintained all items are clearly an accurately labelled for easy access other duties as designated by the PM or FM carried out Receive incoming shipments of tools, equipment, and stock items, verify contents against purchase orders, and ensure proper signing of delivery items for accurate documentation. Organize and store incoming stock in designated locations within the preferred warehouse or storage facility.
3. Well informed management through accurate and timely reporting
Provide weekly updates om items movement and usage to ensure Spare Parts Engineer stay inform Produce monthly report on tool and stock level for internal stakeholders Produce report on quarterly inspection of tools to ensure compliance to safety regulation.
