Graphic Designer


Job Description

CJ Patel (Pacific) Limited is one of Fiji’s largest distributors of locally manufactured and renowned international Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) within Fiji and most of the Pacific. The company has an extensive distribution network with major supermarkets, food service industries and down-the-line (DTL) retailers with its main warehouse in Wailekutu, Lami and supported by branch operations in Lautoka and Labasa and other regional markets such as New Zealand, East Timor, Vanuatu, Kiribati, Tonga, Samoa and Papua New Guinea.

The Graphic Artist performs creative concept and creative design tasks focused on implementing communications and brand strategies and rationales, utilizing hand-rendering skills and digital creative and production skills. This role reports to Group Marketing Manager, CJ Patel (Pacific) Pte Limited.

1. Creation & Conceptualization of visual communications
  • Conceptualization of marketing and communications materials across the organization.
    • Working collaboratively with internal department members to produce creative advertising strategies
    • Study design briefs and determine requirements
    • Brainstorming new creative concepts and designs
    • Schedule projects and define budget constraints
    • Prepare rough drafts and present ideas
  • Develop and design concepts, graphics and layouts for product illustrations, campaign logos, and others.
    • Develop illustrations, logos and other designs using software or by hand
    • Use the appropriate colors and layouts for each graphic
    • Test graphics across various media
    • Amend designs after feedback.
  • Design materials for print media – leaflets, signboard design, advertisement content, banners, newsletters, and other materials as required.
    • e.g. product packaging, promotions, outdoor media, direct mail, advertising, internal collateral, presentations and other print material
    • liaising with external printers or production teams to ensure deadlines are met and material is printed or presented to the highest quality.
  • Creative planning and designing for all the digital marketing campaigns.
  • Daily management of social media platforms and responding to the comments on social media on a timely manner.
  • Quality check on final graphics performed ensuring the artwork and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand
    • Highest standards maintained in graphic design and producing cutting edge creative content, for both print and digital that accurately represents the expectations of the business.
    • Design and execute a new look and feel across all digital and print material that accurately reflects new brand positioning.
  • Maintaining an advanced knowledge of software used for creating graphic designs and trends within design.

Work Knowledge and Experience

  1. Demonstrated ability to work with major graphic design software applications including Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop
  2. Tertiary level qualification in Graphics Designing and/or at least 5 or more years of demonstrated work experience in a similar role.
  3. A keen eye for aesthetics and details and excellent communication skills
  4. Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines
