Electrician - Support Staff [Lautoka]


Job Description

The Fiji Ports Corporation PTE Limited (FPCL) is a major player in the maritime transporting industries and the operator of commercial port facilities in Fiji.

Responsible for assisting in identifying, installing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading electrical systems and equipment. This role reports to the Electrician.

Outcomes

Organisational Stakeholders
1. Electrical-related issues addressed and inspections performed effectively:
  • All repair work conducted in a timely fashion:
    • electrical defects
    • security lights and yard tower lights inside and around office buildings
    • repair work on heights 
  • Commercial and domestic wiring works performed
  • Electrical  installations completed as required
  • Electrical distribution boards upgraded
    • tenants' electrical check meter monitored and recorded
  • Duties performed diligently based on the Inspection Planner
  • Technical Services Team efficiently and effectively assisted as and when required by the Team Leader and Electrician
2. Relevant reports submitted in a timely manner:
  • Wiring defects and incidents reported
    • complaints on electrical related issues attended to efficiently
  • Complaints addressed in a timely fashion: 
    • Incidents and accidents reported accordingly
    • Records for the issue monitored and logged
  • Records for the issue and return of tools and materials at the store monitored and logged accurately
  • Assistant Storeman duties conducted as required
3. Contributions made to the organisation's success proactively:
  • Deadlines and service level agreements met at all times
  • Any other work-related task assigned by the Management that is within the capacity of the position holder is performed; teamwork is demonstrated
  • Contributions made towards the organization's efficiency and improved productivity within -
    • cost reduction initiatives
    • process/systems improvement initiatives

Work Knowledge and Experience

  1. Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical works
  2. Demonstrated knowledge of reading engineering drawings
  3. Reasonable proficiency with Microsoft Office and FPCL online reporting systems
