Manager Digital Content


Job Description

The Fijian Broadcasting Corporation is Fiji's largest media company providing radio and television services in the country. The FBC today operates a network of six radio stations; two in each of the three major languages (i-Taukei, Hindi and English). FBC also has three television channels (FBCTV, FBC2 and FBC Sports HD).

The Manager Digital Content will be responsible for leading and overseeing the development, management, and strategic direction while ensuring the delivery of accurate, engaging, and timely digital content across various platforms.

1. Procedures developed, monitored and implemented
  • Create, conceptualize and disseminate compelling digital content across various platforms that are accurate, unbiased, legally compliant and timely that aligns with the FBC’s overall strategic objectives 
  • Create strategies to increase digital engagement and grow the online audience across platforms such as the FBC website, social media, and mobile application.
  • Lead, develop, implement and monitor procedures to improve the efficiency of the team's work and to better meet the customer's need
2. Digital Content Production
  • Ensure all digital content meets high standards of accuracy, relevance, and quality.
  • Maintain quality standards, style and technical aspect while producing digital content.
  • Manage the development, organization, and dissemination of digital content, such as:
    • articles
    • videos
    • infographics
    • social media updates
  • Ensure all material broadcast is in compliance with the legal requirements in country of operation.
  • Keep up-to-date with market trends, emerging technologies, and audience behaviors to continuously enhance and refine our digital content.
  • Produce innovative digital content.
  • Provide timely updates to the General Manager News & Current Affairs and the Executive Team.
  • Optimization of commercial opportunities.
  • Grow revenue and manage costs.
  • Ensuring to advocate diversity, equity, and inclusion in the content coverage.
  • Address and resolve any digital content-related issues or challenges promptly.
3. Team Management
  • Prepare work plans (weekly, monthly, annual basis)
  • Prepare 3- 5 year strategic plan for the unit. 
  • Provide guidance, training, mentorship and support to ensure the production of high-quality, engaging digital content across all platforms

    • website.

  • Collaborate with news editors, Multimedia Journalists, and other departments to ensure the smooth integration of digital content with broadcast materials.

Work Knowledge and Experience

  1. Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role or in a media organization, with a strong understanding of broadcast and digital journalism.
  2. Strong communication, writing and presentation skills.
  3. Experience in the commercial multimedia environment.
  4. Understanding of media and communication legislation
  5. Innovative thinker with a strong passion for digital media and journalism.
