Job Description

The Fijian Broadcasting Corporation is Fiji's largest media company providing radio and television services in the country. The FBC today operates a network of six radio stations; two in each of the three major languages (i-Taukei, Hindi and English). FBC also has three television channels (FBCTV, FBC2 and FBC Sports HD).

The Manager Sports is to lead a team to create and acquire relevant compelling sporting content and oversee the development, production, and broadcast of sports programming across all platforms.

  • Create and conceptualize compelling sports content across various platforms while ensuring that it is accurate, unbiased, legally compliant and timely that aligns with the FBC’s overall strategic objectives.

2. Production of Sporting Programs

  • Lead negotiations for acquiring sporting content rights, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
  • Identify and secure valuable sporting content rights that align with business goals.
  • Prepare detailed cost-benefit analyses to evaluate the financial implications of potential acquisitions.
  • Develop comprehensive revenue models to project potential income streams from acquired content.
  • Create and implement marketing plans to effectively promote and leverage acquired sporting content.
4. Team Management

Work Knowledge and Experience

  1. Minimum of 3 - 5 years experience in sports broadcasting, or media production, ideally with a focus on sports content.
  2. Strong communication, writing and presentation skills.
  3. An understanding of Local and International sports and culture.
  4. Experience in the commercial multimedia environment- will be an added advantage.
