Job Description

SC Foods is a world-class food manufacturer based in Ba, Fiji . Producing a variety of noodle, extruded snacks, and confectionery, SC Foods adheres to strict compliance with the international ISO accreditation standards and ensures the best in quality control and delivery.

The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible to ensure Quality Management System is compliant with regulatory and food safety requirements. This position reports to Quality Manager, Southern Cross Foods Pte Limited.

Outcomes

1. Regulatory and operationally compliant organisation
  • Processes meet food safety standards mandated by government regulations and SC Foods Quality Management Systems (QMS) standards at all times
    • Société Générale de Surveillance (SGS)/ISO 22000,Nestle Food Safety Management Systems (NFSMS), Health, Halal and Food and Drug Association (FDA) certification ensured 
    • Hazard analysis critical control points (HACCP) plan ensured
      • HACCP pre-requisite programs (Pest Control, GMP, Factory Hygiene, Environment, Waste Management) ensured
      • Non-conformance's from internal/external audits/customer complaints analyzed and corrective actions implemented on a timely basis
      • Management of Internal and supplier audit ensured
      • Quality incidents, internal hold and exceptional releases managed and course of action authorized and approved
    • Product range compliance for Labels and Nutritional Information ensured
    • Raw material and finished goods specifications maintained at all times
    • Raw material supplier agreements maintained with supplier approvals at all times
    • Incoming raw materials specification accurately maintained at all times
2. Well informed management
  • Monthly and quarterly report is timely and accurate 
    • Performance against targets
    • Non-conformance identified via internal/external audits
    • Root cause analysis of all non-conformance with corrective action plan
    • Actions items identified via monthly HACCP meetings
    • Analysis of competitor products
  • Information provided to management is accurate and in a timely manner 
3. Effective Human Capital Management ensures a productive, stable and increasingly capable workforce
  • Productive workforce ensured at all times 
    • Work plans ensured (annual, monthly and weekly)
    • Training needs and competency gaps of staff assessed and managed in partnership with HR Department in a timely basis
    • Supervision of and guidance to Quality staff ensured
  • Succession planning provides career path for staff and business continuity ensured
4. Safe work environment promoted and ensured at all times
  • Work place safety is ensured 
    • Communication of Safety, Health and Environment to all team members are on an on-going basis
    • Occupational Health & Safety systems promote zero workplace injury at all times
    • Local environmental regulation is aligned with work place safety on an on-going basis
  • Workplace hazards eliminated at all times
    • Systems assist in the identification and elimination of work place hazards on an on-going basis

Work Knowledge and Experience

  1. At least three years' experience in a similar role in a food manufacturing environment.
  2. Knowledge of ISO 22000 standards.
  3. Computer literate with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  4. Knowledge in Food safety management system, Good manufacturing practices, labour handling and root cause analysis
  5. Analytical thinking ability and proper communication skills
