Human Resources Business Analyst


Job Description

The Fiji Ports Corporation PTE Limited (FPCL) is a major player in the maritime transporting industries and the operator of commercial port facilities in Fiji.

Responsible for providing a bridge between HR business processes and IT systems, business analytics, market studies and research, assessing quality in business processes. Specific to the role: Recruitment, Compensation and Benefits, Compliance, Reporting, HRIS, Market Analysis for Job Description Evaluation, Company HR Analytics, PMS. This role reports to the Manager Human Capital Services.

Organisational Stakeholders
1. Human Resources processes executed in a timely and efficient manner:
  • Standardization and parity between all job descriptions and market conditions maintained efficiently
    • Conduct periodic job evaluation exercise updates conducted for all positions in a timely manner
  • Effective assistance provided in monitoring of HRIS and Enterprise Resources Planning Systems
  • Business Analytics for process efficiencies provided
  • HR related market surveys conducted efficiently for determining special compensations and benefits when needed
  • Skills Segmentation Matrix maintained 
    • Positions within the Skills Segmentation Matrix (SSM) and the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tagged for special compensation
  • Effective assistance provided to the HCSO with the recruitment process
  • Recruitment and staff skills database maintained effectively 
  • Recommendations provided to the Training and Quality Officer on training modules for staff positions
  • Effective assistance provided to the HCSO in determining a new framework for compensation and benefits
  • Performance Management System monitored and assistance provided in the implementation 
  • Effective assistance provided in effective employee relations and activities related to upkeep of staff morale
  • Strategic projects recommended and established for the HR department
    • initiate effectively in other departments
  • Effective assistance provided in the monitoring of Company SOPs, BFS, SLAs , Call Trees and Records Management in liaison with the HCSO, MHR and CEO
2. All administrative functions handled systematically and efficiently:
  • Quality of HR data in the HRIS ensured
  • Security of HR electronic data ensured in liaison with the ICT department
  • Records on benefits and compensation monitored
    • ensure all medical insurance records for employees are up-to-date
3. All relevant internal and external communications handled professionally:
  • All correspondences handled efficiently
  • Confidential documents handled with professionalism
  • Effective assistance provided to all internal and external customers as required
    • Liaise with departments and coordinate implementation of various HR projects, procedures and guidelines
  • Stakeholder management ensured
    • liaise with relevant authorities and external parties as and when required and instructed
    • liaise with the HR Software vendors as and when required to maintain the upkeep of the database
    • liaise with consultants during coordination of HR projects
4. All departmental objectives addressed and completed in a timely and efficient manner:
  • Effective assistance and recommendations provided in the development and update (as per company requirements) of the 
    • department's policy
    • standard operating procedures
    • business process flows 
  • Required regulations complied with at all times

Work Knowledge and Experience

  1. Minimum of 2 years of experience as an HR Officer or HR Coordinator
  2. In-depth knowledge of ERP
  3. Thorough understanding of HR processes, CRM and Records Keeping
  4. Specialized experience in business analytics in HR
  5. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and FPCL online reporting systems
  6. Knowledge of the ERP
