TV Scheduler


Job Description

The Fijian Broadcasting Corporation is Fiji's largest media company providing radio and television services in the country. The FBC today operates a network of six radio stations; two in each of the three major languages (i-Taukei, Hindi and English). FBC also has three television channels (FBCTV, FBC2 and FBC Sports HD).

The TV Scheduler will ensure the scheduling of on-air content, oversee transmission and network operations, maintain seamless broadcast quality, and promptly resolve technical issues.

1. Managing and Coordinating TV schedules
  • Scheduling on-air content to ensure it aligns with programming requirements and strategies.
  • Developing daily program schedules and Electronic Program Guides (EPG).
  • Ensuring playout and transmission align with the daily playlist.
  • Distributing daily program schedules to all relevant departments.
  • Ensuring consistency between the Presentation Schedule and the Planning Grid.
  • Keeping precise records of on-air activities and technical issues.
2. Management of Promotional Content
  • Formulating monthly media plans for promos, graphics, and navigation.
  • Coordinate with relevant departments to track the progress of promos.
  • Review on-air promotional content to ensure compliance with branding guidelines.
  • Keep precise records of promo inventory.
  • Collaborate with the Production team to manage promo delivery timelines.
3. Teamwork and Cooperation

  • Work collaboratively to achieve the set targets and goals
  • Coordinate with the Ingest Department to ensure accurate playout and transmission.
  • Collaborate with channel management teams to align on programming strategies.
4. Administrative duties
  • Preparing and organizing detailed playlists for playout and transmission, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Generating and processing billing information, including tracking and reconciling discrepancies for invoicing purposes.
  • Manage administrative tasks such as:
    • data entry
    • document preparation
    • maintaining records
  • Coordinating with relevant departments to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to deadlines.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory and tracking materials for programming and promotional content.

  • Collaborate with other teams in the organisation for the benefit of the FBC
