Job Description

Fiji Airports Limited, established in 1999, is a government-owned commercial entity responsible for operating and managing 15 public airports across the Fiji Islands. This includes two international airports: Nadi International Airport, the main gateway for international visitors, and Nausori Airport, the domestic hub. Fiji Airports also oversees 13 outer island airports and provides air traffic management services within the Nadi Flight Information Region, covering an area of 6 million square kilometers. The company is dedicated to delivering world-class airport facilities and ensuring safe and efficient operations.

The Manager of Strategic Communications and Engagement, reporting to the CEO, is responsible for shaping and executing Fiji Airports' internal and external communication and engagement strategies to enhance brand presence and drive engagement. This role involves developing impactful messaging across all channels, aligning with the organization's strategic objectives, and fostering strong relationships with regional, international and media stakeholders. The Manager oversees media relations, internal communications, content creation, and stakeholder engagement, playing a critical role in maintaining Fiji Airports' reputation, promoting transparency, and addressing communication challenges. This position is pivotal in positioning Fiji Airports as a trusted entity and community leader.

  • Robust communications strategy that supports FA's strategic plan objectives developed, implemented throughout FA and refined for effectiveness

Work Knowledge and Experience

  1. Approximately 15 years successful work experience in similar roles
  2. Proven track record designing and executing successful communications strategy and public relations campaigns
  3. Proven experience in acting as a company spokesperson; comfortable and skilled in both broadcast and print media interviews
  4. Exceptional writing and editing skills
  5. Strong relationships with line ministries, private and public sector partners and industry media outlets
  6. Proven ability and experience using all forms of social and online media to deliver messages and provide information to target audiences
