Job Description

Iceman (Fiji) PTE Limited is a joint venture company between CJ Patel & Company Pte Ltd and Iceman Technologies (Pvt) Ltd Sri Lanka. Iceman represents world renowned brands like Copeland, Geneglace (France), Bitzer (Germany) and Heatcraft (Australia) and primarily deals with installation, assembling, selling and carrying out maintenance on prefabricated cold rooms, ice plants, refrigerated trucks and air conditioners.

The role is responsible for collating, preparing and interpreting reports, budgets, accounts and associated commentaries as well as financial statements. The role also involves undertaking strategic analysis and assisting executive management with strategic planning. The incumbent reports to the General Manager of the company.

1. Developing and Growing the Finance Function
  • Future financing arrangements with Bankers and shareholders to fund growth secured
  • Cash-flow sustainability and predictability ensured
  • Financially informed stakeholders including but not limited to shareholders,bankers and solicitors ensured
Organisational Stakeholders
1. Financial Budget and Strategic Plan
  • Strategic Plan financial objectives/goals and operating budget aligned
  • Strategic Plan growth aspirations ensured through capital expenditure budgets
  • Operating Budget profitability targets achieved
  • Capital Expenditure budget assisted
  • Long-term business sustainability and competitive advantage ensured
  • Sound financial basis and appropriate financial indicators for Management's Strategic Planning process ensured
    • Appropriate performance indicators (e.g. Profitability, Solvency, Working Capital, Capital Structure ratios) for  strategic plans are formulated, discussed and incorporated into Strategic Plans
2. Financial Services provided
  • Strict and relevant financial accounting, internal audit and risk management reporting systems and processes established.
  • Effective Cost-Management system implemented and cost-reduction opportunities maximised
  • Executive business decision-making process, profitability, efficiency and  debt targets fully supported
    • Accurate and timely monthly accounts reconciliations ensured
    • Accurate Monthly Management Accounts formulated
  • Sustainable Cash-flow management and liquidity ensured
  • Timely Statutory audit, reporting and filings ensured
  • Full compliance with relevant regulatory obligations maintained
3. Financial Reporting (to Management)
  • Financail performance targets effectively monitored and Strategic direction of the company maintained
    • Monthly Management Accounts ensured
    • Variance analysis of Budget vs. Actual financial performance including variance commentary and corrective measures ensured
    • Quality Cost-Benefit analysis for new products and markets ensured
    • Business Intelligence Reporting ensured (Examples as follows for clarity):
      • Changes to the company's business environment, implications on the entity and recommended revisions to business plans ensured
      • Comparative analysis of the company's business performance vis a vis its Competitors' performance and Market Trends ensured
4. Statutory and Operational Compliance
  • Company compliance with legislative requirements in the areas of taxation and superannuation as well as compliance with accounting standards ensured
  • Company Compliance and working relationship with statutory authorities/entities effectively managed
5. Team Management/Leadership
  • Supervision and professional guidance of /for staff in the Finance Team ensured
  • Staff productivity, efficiency, motivation and professionalism ensured
  • Occupational Health and Safety standards within the Finance Team ensured

  1. Minimum 4-5 years in a similar position. Work experience in or working knowledge of the Manufacturing industry is desirable.
