Job Description

Fiji Pine Group (FPG) is a state-owned forestry and wood-processing organisation in Fiji, responsible for the sustainable management of the country’s pine plantation resources. The Group is involved in plantation establishment, harvesting, timber processing, and the supply of wood products for local and export markets.   • Ensure all heavy equipment, fleet vehicles, and mobile machinery are maintained in reliable working condition to support uninterrupted operational activities.

  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to extend the lifespan of vehicles and equipment while reducing unexpected breakdowns.
3. Timely Fault Diagnosis and Repairs
  • Diagnose mechanical faults accurately and complete repairs efficiently to return vehicles and equipment to service within the shortest possible time.

  • Maintain heavy and light vehicles, machinery, and small operational equipment to ensure the fleet remains safe, serviceable, and operational at all times.
5. Maintenance Documentation and Reporting
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work logs, and issue reports to support effective fleet management and operational planning.
6. Workshop Safety and Compliance
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company policies, procedures, and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards.
7. Operational Support and Emergency Response
  • Provide mechanical standby support and respond to operational emergencies to maintain fleet readiness and business continuity.
8. Team Development and Knowledge Sharing
  • Support capability development by providing on-the-job training and technical guidance to mechanics, assistants, and other fleet personnel.
9. Continuous Improvement in Fleet Operations
  • Identify opportunities for improvements in maintenance practices, equipment efficiency, and workshop operations to enhance overall fleet performance.
