Supply Technician


Job Description

The Supply Technician is responsible for ensuring essential supplies and equipment are securely stocked and in good condition at all times. This role reports to the Store Coordinator.

1. Stores Operations Managed to Company Standards

• Store locations are maintained in a safe, clean, orderly, and secure condition
• Store layout supports efficient stock movement, controlled access, and safe handling practices
• Store security controls minimise loss, damage, or unauthorised access
• Environmental controls reduce stock deterioration and minimise losses
• Oversized or special‑handling materials are controlled and stored appropriately

2. Timely, relevant and compliant reporting
  • All internal and external (if any) reporting requirements in regards to Vital's procurement function fully understood and correctly executed              
    • Robust and relevant periodic reports prepared and submitted as and when requested.
    • Procurement Manager provided with useful information combined with analysis and interpretation, for the purpose of decision making
    • Ad-hoc information request by superiors addressed in a timely manner

5. Inventory Accuracy and Stock Integrity Maintained

• All goods receipted, stored, and issued through the store are accurately recorded in the inventory system
• Inventory records align with physical stock held at all times
• Monthly stocktakes completed accurately and within required timeframes
• Stock variances are investigated, documented, and reported promptly
• Store stock levels are maintained to meet operational needs while minimising excess or obsolete stock

6. Receipt, Issue, and Distribution of Store Goods

• Goods are received, inspected, and verified against delivery documentation
• Damaged, incomplete, or non‑conforming shipments are identified and reported promptly
• Stock is shelved, stacked, and stored in accordance with handling and safety requirements
• Stock is issued only to authorised employees and accurately recorded
• Service kits are prepared correctly and issued on time to maintenance teams
•  internal deliveries, and trans‑shipments are completed efficiently and safely

7. Safety, Quality and Compliance Ensured

• Store operations comply with health, safety, security, and environmental requirements
• Bulk chemicals are stored safely with current and accessible MSDS
• Quality control, laboratory, and measurement equipment are maintained in serviceable condition
• Calibration and verification schedules are adhered to and documented
• Material handling and forklift operations comply with certification requirements and site rules

Qualifications

Work Knowledge and Experience

  1. Two years working experience in supply chain, logistics, and warehouse management
  2. Strong Computer skills including MS Office and familiarity with inventory software devices
  3. Experience in cargo tendering and familiar with import and export shipping documents requirement
  4. Familiarity with the ASYCUDA customs portal and experience supporting the clearance of inbound cargo
  5. Proven experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a similar role.
  6. Experience operating material handling equipment (e.g. forklifts, pallet jacks, lifting devices)
