Job Description

Fiji Pine Group (FPG) is a state-owned forestry and wood-processing organisation in Fiji, responsible for the sustainable management of the country’s pine plantation resources. The Group is involved in plantation establishment, harvesting, timber processing, and the supply of wood products for local and export markets. Through its various subsidiary companies, Fiji Pine Group (FPG) plays a key role in supporting rural employment, landowner participation, and the long-term development of Fiji’s forestry sector while promoting sustainable and responsible forest management.

The Instrument Fitter ensures that all plants and equipment’s are in functioning order. The role will be responsible in carrying out tasks as designated by superiors to effectively and efficiently meet the operational requirement of instrumentation department. This role will report to the Tradesman.

  • Proficiency successfully demonstrated in the use of hand tools for bench fittings, tube bending, and other associated tasks.
    • Maintained tools and equipment in optimal condition through regular inspection, calibration, and maintenance.
    • Trained and mentored junior technicians on proper tool usage and techniques for instrument fitting tasks.

Qualifications

Qualification Discipline Notes
Preferred
Certificate Instrumentation and Electronics Engineering relevant field with 3 years of experience.

Work Knowledge and Experience

  1. Must have industrial and cogeneration plant knowledge.
  2. Good knowledge of various test equipment
  3. Completion of instrumentation & electronics apprenticeship will be an added advantage.
  4. Deep electronic system, power generation, blueprints and maintenance and repair knowledge.
  5. Sound knowledge in PLC and DCS control systems
  6. Good communication skills (both written and oral).
  7. Positive attitude and team player.
  8. Flexible attitude towards working hours.
  9. Able to work under minimum supervision and delivering work/projects within tight deadlines.
  10. Must develop a sense of organizational ownership by effectively measuring how each project contributes to the strategic objectives of the organization planning of activities well in advance; prioritizing, organizing and scheduling events, activities and resources so that work is completed in full, on time and efficiently.
